Early Life and Career Beginnings

Eric Clapton was born in Ripley, England, on March 30, 1945. He developed a passion for music at a young age, and by his early teens, he was playing guitar in local bands.

Despite facing some setbacks, including being expelled from school, Clapton persisted with his musical aspirations. In 1963, he joined the Yardbirds, a British blues-rock band that launched his career.

Blues Legend: Cream and Beyond

Clapton's tenure with the Yardbirds helped establish him as a rising guitar virtuoso. In 1966, he formed Cream with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, a supergroup that quickly achieved international fame.
