Sunita Williams's Return Delayed Due to Weather
NASA astronaut Sunita Williams's mission on the International Space Station (ISS) has been extended due to weather conditions, which have prevented her from returning to Earth as planned.
Williams, along with NASA astronaut Josh Cassada and Russian cosmonaut Sergey Korsakov, was originally scheduled to return to Earth on March 30th. However, due to high winds and rough seas at the splashdown zone off the coast of Florida, NASA has postponed their return until April 4th.
The decision to delay the astronauts' return was made out of an abundance of caution, NASA said in a statement. The agency wants to ensure that the astronauts can return to Earth safely, and the weather conditions are not currently conducive to a safe landing.
Williams's Mission on the ISS
Williams has been on the ISS since November 2022, serving as part of the Expedition 68 crew. During her time on the space station, she has conducted a number of scientific experiments and participated in several spacewalks.
